"Indeed, the hairs of your head are all counted. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Luke 12:7
It has been said that the average person has between 90,000 hairs on their head to about 145,000. Yet God knows exactly how many hairs you have; if He knows that about you, He also knows all the important things and never forgets about us – that is real love!
Those who are being mistreated or oppressed are tempted to give in to the feeling that they are worthless and no one cares for them. Yet a loving God in heaven values each one of us. If God cares about a very small creature like a sparrow, then He certainly cares for His best creation – us!
When I recently was studying and this verse came up, I instantly imagined in my mind an idea to create a lady with flowing hair. When I researched ‘flowing hair’ and how I should devise this design I stumbled across a beautiful Zentangle picture of a colorful garden and that instantly became my inspiration for this meditative lady with hair streaming in the wind!
The composition of this creation was done with just a few supplies:
- Micron black pen
- PrismaColor pencils
- Details Alphabet Stamp letters stamped in black Ranger Archival Ink
- Illustrating Bible by DaySpring and Illustrated Faith

This is SO beautiful. I absolutely love your artistic take on this passage. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Becca! God is so imaginative when it comes to how he created us! I love how HE speaks to me while I am creating. A lot of times people ask how I come up with a concept, and honestly, HE puts it into my mind, and when I create it, it comes out of my heart – I just LOVE that!
Sweet picture & post! Thank you for the encouragement1
Teresa, thank you!! I’m glad you are encouraged! I originally was going to use only 2-3 colors for the hair, but I went a little wild and used a bunch instead!
It is amazing how the Lord loves us and knows us so intimately. Thank you for sharing your art and techniques.
Yes Joy, He is indeed amazing! Thanks for viewing my blog!
Thank you for the inspiration, that God loves all of his creations… I love working with prism colored pencils. 😀
Yes He does Rhonda! Those pencils are the best, they color very smoothly and are vibrant!
