Beauty

Bible Journaling, Beauty, Flamingos

“He has made everything beautiful in it’s time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

In this world, every thing created is exactly as God made it; not as it appears to us. He created everything exactly in His image. Because we live in this world, the world has shaped our hearts, invaded our very thoughts, and pushed the cares of everything worldly into our very beings. And because of this, we don’t take the time or the effort, or dare say, have the mindset to exactly see God’s hand in any of it. It has basically molded our attention away from the beauty of God’s works.

To get us back on track and on the mindset of God’s creation and the beauty in it, we need to set our focus back on God. Yes, just that simple, we all need a re-alignment back to all things God.

We can definitely see the beauty in a flock of flamingos in all their pinkness, but can we see the beauty in a forest fire caused by nature with a lightning strike leaving destruction and death? The beauty of a naturally occurring fire is the new creation of foliage and vegetation necessary for the growth of a forest. If there are no farmers around to navigate the process of cutting down trees, harvesting the ground, then replanting seeds, how else will a forest repopulate itself? God knew that, and created everything perfectly to recycle life, including ours!

Creating this page was fun! Who doesn’t like colorful birds frolicking in beautiful flowers and plants? Well, when I found these napkins, yes, cocktail napkins at the dollar store, my eye was drawn to the beauty of the colors. All my friends know I love everything beachy and tropical, and these napkins definitely hit the mark!

So the base is the beautiful napkin applied with a clear gesso (similar to glue) in my DaySpring Illustrating Bible, and the writing is with a Micron black archival ink pen. Pretty simple would you agree? I would love for you to give it a try and let me know how it turns out for you. Better yet, send me a pic of your creation and reference it in the Comments below!

So, I did notice a mistake in my quoting of the scripture in my artwork, this is the correct verse: “He has made everything beautiful in it’s time.” That is how you know I am totally flawed and I actually created this page, please forgive my misspelling and still enjoy the beauty!!!

Thank you for stopping by and letting me share a piece of my thought process and my love for God’s creation!

Blessings to you!
