Springtime Brings Hope

Bible Journaling, Bible Art, Freedom, Free in Christ

Sun shining, birds chirping, bees a-buzzing, flowers blooming – all the signs that Spring is happening! We all love the warmth after a cold Winter, and springtime is when it all begins to happen. Spring is in the air and where flowers bloom and so does hope!

Hope…

  • Is seeing light in spite being surrounded by darkness
  • Is the anchor for the soul
  • When the world says, “give up”, hope whispers, “try it one more time”
  • Is never losing hope, you never know what tomorrow may bring

When we think of Spring, many begin to think of vacation time during Easter Break and how it can’t get here soon enough and what our plans will be for that week. Others begin to think about Easter Sunday, the Easter Bunny, candy, eggs, baskets, and what to wear to Church. What many miss is the hope that the Easter story, the cross, and Jesus’ death and resurrection can bring.

How can Jesus’ death and resurrection bring us hope? There is hope in believing what can’t be seen, even during the dark times of our life. “Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen”- Hebrews 11:1. “Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him” – Hebrews 11:6

Hope in God means never being shamed because of our past, or thinking we don’t deserve hope or forgiveness. “This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us” -Romans 5:5

The best part is that there is freedom once you become a child of God – “There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death” -Romans 8:1-2

How was this Bible Art Journaling page created?

It was created on a recycled page out of an old hymn book. The bird was created from Illustrated Faith, Print Pray & Shop, and a black Micron pen was used for the lettering. The song lyrics sheet was from “Room at the Cross for You”:

“The cross upon which Jesus died
Is a shelter in which we can hide
And its grace so free is sufficient for me
And deep is its fountain as wide as the sea.
There’s room at the cross for you
There’s room at the cross for you
Though millions have come, there’s still room for one
Yes there’s room at the cross for you.”
