The Lord Will Guide You!

"And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail." Isaiah 58:11

What a wonderful promise from God! Not only will He guide you continually like He guided the Israelites through the wilderness with the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:22), He will also refresh our thirst for Him during the dry seasons and scarcity of Life (Psalms 63:1).

He will strengthen and satisfy our souls and will keep our health and bodies strong. He will help us to flourish like a healthy garden and will continue to water it with a well of blessings that are never ending!

What an incentive to come up with a picture of a healthy and lively garden with flowers and green grass growing uninhibited! And in the midst of it, a beautiful creation of God happily enjoying God’s promise and guidance!

In this Art Journaling Bible, I used clear gesso first as my primer for this page to protect from any bleed-thru. I then outlined the pictures with a black micron pen and filled in the colors and details with watercolor pencils and gelatos. The words were created with a label maker and outlined with a thin-tip black sharpie.

I hope you enjoyed reading along and are inspired to create a beautiful garden in your bible yourself! Have a creative day and feel free to leave me any comments below!

Blessings!

  • Christa, I have to say, I always admire your artwork so much. You’re incredibly talented and I love this. It is such a beautiful promise from God expressed in a lovely way.

    • Thank you so much Becca! I knew this was a calling due to my love for arts & crafts and my love for reading God’s Word. It comes together beautifully as I spend more & more time with Him!

    • Hi Sandra, thank you so much for visiting! I usually use a #03 or a #05 Micron on the majority of my pages. Some of my pages where I want it a bit heavier, I’ve gravitated to a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 pen for adding punch!

  • I love this idea of an Art Journaling Bible. I wondered what you used to make it look nice and not bleed onto the page. Thanks for explaining the process.

    • Hi Jelane! Thank you so much! The trick for no bleed-through is to apply a clear gesso very lightly on the whole page and use a heat tool to dry it. I use ArtBasics by Prima for the smoothiest and clear use.
